Tokyo resident, prominent figure in the 2024 Japanese Garage movement & NUKG 24/7 alumni Shunji Fujii pleased us immensely with a recent Tweet announcing the release of three musical NUKG riddims through this summer.
Syncopated shuffle 'Morning' releases 17th July, with Jazz Stepper 'South Avenue' following on 31st and 4x4 roller 'Drifting Away' coming on 14th August. Each track displays Shunji's usual high-level production to full effect & is sure to get heads nodding and feet tapping. We've been feeling deprived of new music from the In The Garage award-winner for some time now, so to be blessed with multiple new releases in quick succession is a most welcome surprise!
Details on the labels responsible is limited, one might speculate based on the sound & artwork they're likely to come by way of Junya Shimizu's Infinity Sense. However we note that the Tweet (loosely translated c/o Google translate) specificially mentions that you'll be able to obtain the releases via Bandcamp. Shunji's previous Infinity Sense releases can be purchased directly from his Bandcamp - so it seems likely you'll be able to get 'Morning', 'South Avenue' & 'Drifting Away' there too. You'll find 'Luminance', 'Tokyo Subway' & 'Bloom' there already - definitely worth a follow for-sure!
