This post is bittersweet. We had hoped to pre-emptively advertise MJ Cole presents Sincere - a live show at London's Jazz Café - with a view to helping you loyal readers get in the waiting list to secure tickets. Unfortunately, some legal issues have waylaid us somewhat recently - hence the absence of regular posts in recent weeks. As a result, we completely missed the boat on this one!
Nonetheless, we're stoked to report that the gig sold out in just 10 minutes - a clear indication that UK Garage is alive-&-well and that, the main man himself MJ Cole, is definitely still a draw.
The event promises to hark back to simpler times when, at the turn of the century, Mr Coleman himself guested on Jool Holland's BBC show with a band to perform hits like 'Crazy Love' alongside the likes of Elisabeth Troy and Danny V (later known as Fallacy). If it sounds like your bag and you're just hearing about it now, don't be too gutted - as word on the street has it that there may well be plans for a follow-up down the line. If you don't want to be disappointed again, your best bet is probably to follow MJ's socials (as if you aren't already!); better still - subscribe to his newsletter.
