They've been teasing it for a while via socials, but MJ Cole & Eliza Rose's 'Business As Usual' release just dropped via Rosebud Recordings & it's massive.
If you know anything at all about UK Garage, you won't need us to highlight just how skilled Matt Coleman is, but in a NUKG landscape currently dominated by wonky 4x4, Speed Garage & darker 2 Step - we'd be remiss if we didn't take a moment to remind everyone how important it is to take a moment away from what's topical, in order to appreciate the vintage sonic palette of UKG's finest. After all, it's everything most of us have come to love about the Garage sound.
Whilst the "AM mix" - eerily reminiscent of the 2003 Talkin' Loud release 'Cut To The Chase' - is well worth a listen; it's more likely you're going to want to check out the "PM mix": which is vintage MJ Cole through-&-through - chocked full of lush pizzicato string plucks, lush pads & those signature MJ rhodes licks... but with a substantial amount of thumpy sub bass to boot.
That's not to downplay Eliza Rose's input either - she's on fine form here, showcasing her unique vocal styling to full effect. Evidently, pairing these two up was a great idea... here's hoping this isn't a one-&-done deal!
Of course we've no doubt you'll want to support, so here's the link you need to do so right away.
