MC Cobra's new album 'Return To The Underground' championed by BBC Introducing

It's fair to say we've been excited about the third album release from MC Cobra! His previous two ('Planet Of The Tapes' & 'Strikes Back') were stellar 5 star efforts - featuring a raft of NUKG's finest production talent.

Cobra's old skool approach to crafting artist albums is a breath of fresh air amongst other album offerings which merely compile several tunes by an act. This is a guy who approaches a project with a concept & works through it from start-to-finish, with the purpose of showcasing his artistic position at a given point in time. & as an MC, he definitely knows how to make himself stand out from the crowd - speaking openly, with integrity & about matters which mean something him. It makes him more relatable (& arguably, relevant) when compared to many of his peers.

'Return To The Underground' showcases this perfectly, continuing right where 'Strikes Back' left off. The likes of Phonetix, BWK Project, Ollie Weeks, Wayward Beatz, Baker, Shadow Of Light, Dan Speed, Dannny JD & Zigz step up on production duties. To boot, the release has been mixed & mastered by Phonetix - so you can rest assured it absolutely slaps.

It appears the team at BBC Introducing agree with our thoughts as well, as they've been championing tracks from the album for months now - having showcased single 'Pre-Social' &, more recently, 'Hold Time' (both produced by Phonetix). The release was given a nod this week on a special edition of the BBC Introducing South show which focussed specifically on music from Surrey (Phonetix's locale).

You can stream 'Return To The Underground' via all major streaming services now, or download it exclusively from Beatport (for the next couple of weeks - after which it'll hit all your other favourite download sites). Go give it a listen!
